WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans say nurses have the highest honesty and ethical standards. Members of Congress, business executives, car salespeople, and telemarketers were given the worst ratings among the 18 professions included in this year’s poll. 79% percent of Americans say nurses have “very high” or “high” standards of honesty and ethics, compared with a 10% rating for members of Congress, 12% for car salespeople, 16% for business executives, and 8% for telemarketers. 62% of Americans rated medical doctors well behind nurses, but above all other professions.
