Rationale:
Because the claim that our current members of Action Team have a “special” working relationship with doctors, raises the serious issue suggesting that our doctors favor our current Action Team RNs over all other ICU RNs, the Union has decided to ask all ICU nurses to provide their professional opinion on this issue by asking the following question in general terms:
In your professional opinion, in general, is it OK for any doctor from any hospital located in the United States to practice favoritism in any hospital environment including our ICU?
Choices | Response % | Response Count |
Yes, any doctor should be allowed to practice favoritism in any facility/environment located in the United States including our ICU | 0 % | 0 |
No, it is not professional for anyone including doctors to practice favoritism at work regardless of location | 92.79 % | 103 |
Other (Please specify) | 7.21 | 8 |
Any additional comments? | N/A | 8 |

Conclusion: This result provides strong evidence that overwhelming majority of our ICU nurses (including vast majority of our current Action Team members who completed this survey) strongly believe that it is not professional for anyone including doctors to practice favoritism at work by having “special” relationship with some nurses.
